Chocolate Dipped Orange Slices

Chocolate Dipped Orange Slices are an easy and tasty sweet treat! Plus, using pre-candied orange slices makes this recipe only 2 ingredients. Perfect for dessert and chacuterie boards!

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces chocolate melting wafers dark or milk chocolate
  • 10.6 ounces sweetened dried orange slices 2 (5.3 ounce) bags from Trader Joe's

Instructions

  • Heat Ghirardelli Chocolate Melting Wafers according to package. I am using the double boil method. Melt chocolate until smooth and completely melted.
  • Carefully transfer hot melted chocolate to a mug. Line a baking sheet/sheet pan with a piece of parchment paper or silicone mat. Dip candied orange slices one at a time into chocolate about ½ way. Lift and let access chocolate fall off or carefully tap access chocolate off. Place on the sheet pan and repeat with remaining orange slices.
  • Allow candied oranges to sit until chocolate is completely set (about 10 minutes). Peel dipped oranges from parchment paper and enjoy.

Notes

Make sure all your equipment is absolutely dry and free from any water droplets, otherwise your chocolate will seize and be grainy.
Refrigerate if needed for quicker setting - I found that once I was done dipping all the oranges, the first ½ I dipped we're already set and the others ones we're close to being done as well! But, if you need to have the oranges set up quicker leave the them in the fridge for a few minutes until set.
When dipping choose the right vessel for dipping - I suggest using a mug instead of a bowl. It has high enough walls to allow for easy dipping and mugs usually are the perfect width for the slices.
